How to install YDL on PowerMac G4
My first post. Don't know if this the correct forum.
Have a PowerMac G4 with 500MHz processor and 1.5Gb ram. Do not have the original mac install disk. After downloading and burning the YDL iso, I tried installing it, (by booting up with the disk inthe drive) even holding down the 'c' button to no avail. Any thoughts as to where I'm going wrong? -john |
is your G4 running mac osX or os9?

OSX, sorry, should have included that info.

well the possibilities are as follows
the c key command(apple)-option-shift-delete or invoke open firmware (Command (cloverleaf/Apple)+Option+o+f) and enter at the prompt Code:
0 > boot cd:,\install\yaboot http://www.debian.org/releases/stabl...h05s01.html.en |
Thanks, will give it a try!!

good luck oh and welcome to LQ, my first distribution was yellowdog, many, many, many years ago, before macs supported directly booting to Linux, it required a mac-os based boot-loader program, it was to say the least, a pain.
again, best of luck. |
