how to install wvdial in ubuntu 9.10???

Hi,
I'm really very new to linux and I just installed ubuntu 9.10 in my machine... in order to connect to internet(EVDO), through other forums i found out that i'd be requiring wvdial. So i downloaded its source file but i'm having problem installing it... also it seems that wvdial itself requires some other software installed earlier.
Can anyone please walk me through the whole process....

Thanks
Rishabh
