try a VM or give more details

If you are not planning to make heavy use of XP (particularly for games that make full use of your system), I suggest you try installing it as a virtual machine. I mainly use Fedora 8 and 12 but sometimes need to use a Microsoft Access application or some other old programs and I have had very good results running XP using VirtualBox. You can find instructions at

If you don't want to try that, you should probably provide more details of how you plan to use the system.

Good luck!

windows usually has problems with non-windows data in the master boot record. If you were booting both Fedora and xp with Grub this might be your problem. Use your xp cd, load it and look for a Recovery option, if you don't have one and you can get to a prompt just type "r" to get recovery and then enter command "fixmbr" (without quotes) and re-boot to see if it works. If it does not, use the CD again and run command "fixboot" without quotes.

You can probably find a number of more detailed explanations by searching "fix xp master boot record" here at LQ, at, or google.
