Question how to install VMWare Player on RHEL6?

I am new to Red Hat Linux. I built my machine this past Xmas and chose RHEL6 as the OS.
Now, I want to install VMWare Player so I can install Windows 7 as a VM.
I have successfully downloaded VMWare Player, but don't know the commands to go from the download folder to installation. The file is a tar file.
Q. What are the commands to install? Where do I want to install it?

Thanks!

RHEL 6 has KVM built in , there is no need to buy vmware

well you do have a paid for license ? right?

have you read the documentation on red hat web site ?
https://access.redhat.com/knowledge/docs/
https://access.redhat.com/knowledge/...erprise_Linux/
or do a search of the knowledge base

Question KVM

John VV,

Thank you for pointing that out! I will use KVM.

Q. Another question: If I allocate memory and CPUs to the virtual machine I create, does that mean that I am effectively taking away memory and CPUs from the base machine? Is this only when the virtual machine is opened and running, correct? If I do not open the virtual machine, then the base machine should have 100% capacity of the memory and CPUs, correct? Or is this an allocation that will forever take away my resources?
