how to install updates and packages via DVD?

I have been using the CNC variant of debian for a long time. The 2003 Compaq NC6000 finally gave up. I found a not quite so antique desktop with a parallel port (necessary for the CNC controller) but it has no wifi. Unsurprisingly, installing linuxCNC worked, but could not update anything. Furthermore, I would like to add various development tools such as ddd. There must be a way to download updates and packages to my PC that has Internet access, then apply those updates and packages to my debian box on a DVD. How?

It has no wifi usually because of broadcom nic.

Is there no way to connect to a rj45 cable?

Usually you can use your phone as a hotspot to usb to get some wifi drivers if you need that.

A Debian supported out of box wifi adapter is an idea.

To be clear. It is possible to use a local repo but it isn't easy in your case. But it can be done.

I'd take the drive out and boot it on some machine that had internet before I did the dvd.
