How to install Ubuntu Netbook Edition to dual boot with XP?

I have a 160 GB Spaced 'HP Mini 1000' partitioned to two 80 GB drives. On one of them, Windows XP is already installed.

I would like to create a dual boot so that the other empty drive has Ubuntu Netbook edition 10.10.

I am a newbie with Linux, well versed with Windows and decided to venture with learning Linux by doing this.

So far, I have just downloaded the Netbook Edition from the following link.
http://www.ubuntu.com/netbook/get-ubuntu/download

Can someone please suggest how should I go about installing the Ubuntu netbook edition to dual boot with XP?

Any detailed steps or links would be appreciated.

Have you followed the instructions regarding Ubuntu Netbook Remix? You create a CD or bootable USB pen as per the instructions on (or near) the download page then boot it as a live OS. You might have to create the CD or USB pen from a different system, one which can burn CD/DVDs. You should be able to select the boot device during the Netbook's POST; Either a USB attached CD/DVDROM or the USB pen. If you like it, hit the install icon and select your second partition when it asks where you want it installed. i.e. NOT "Use whole disk" - Use Custom and select the second partition. Ubuntu will install Grub2 for dual booting with Ubuntu as the default OS and XP as the second. Then "Tah Dah"... Job done! :D

Play Bonny! :hattip:
