hi, i am new to the forum and linux.

please be aware that i am a complete noooobie at linux and dont know any thing so please help me!



i have managed to install suse linux 9.1 in my pc.

i have a silver colored USB Thomson speedtouch 330 adsl modem, i need to install the drivers for it but dont have a clue on how to do this.

i am trying to follow this guide:

speedtouchconf.sourceforge.net/script.shtml

but i am stuck at this command: cp /tmp/alcaudsl.sys .

i have downloaded:

speedtouch conf-19-06-2004.tar.gz
rev4.zip

both of the above files on the linux desktop.

if you can please can you tell me exactly how to install the driver for this modem, thank you so much in advance..

Give a little more detail. What does it tell you when you try to 'cp /tmp/alcaudsl.sys' . Just for future reference... it helps to put any information from your console on here. Errors and all.
