You can install over the network but not with iso images. You will need to burn the iso images to cd.
You will need first cd where you can select the type of installation. All the other cds can be eliminated but you will need the rpms shared from the system. |
Quote:
install poweriso on the windows box you can then mount a dvd iso to a drive. from here you can then do a network install on a remote machine. options are nfs, ftp, http or rsync so, you may have to set up an ftp or http server on the windows machine. ftp will prob be easiest. copy the files from the mounted iso to the ftp root directory. boot the blank machine with a redhat boot disk or network install disk or boot usb disk (you have many choices here) at the prompt, type Code:
linux askmethod you dont need to burn a cd/dvd from an iso, but you may need to create a boot disk. creating a bootcd is as easy as copying the boot.iso to a cd. you can find boot.iso on the dvd iso in a directory called images sorry i did not go into this clearly but there are just so many howtos on the web.. |
