how to install proprietry drivers on Zorin os6

I am a complete newbie to anything Linux but would like to get started, I have an old Acer aspire 3500 that I would like to use to learn on. I installed Zorin OS 6 after reading many reviews and it seems to have loaded correctly and done a raft of updates however the screen flashes and doesn't resize properly. It seems like the graphics driver, So I tried the auto driver update utility but none came up. So I have downloaded the windows driver from Acer. However I cannot find the utility for installing the driver. I have watched several youtube videos for othe distros but they don't seem to apply. Can anyone help?

You can't use Windows drivers on Linux and there are, AFAIK, no proprietary drivers for the SIS 661MX/741/760 video chip for Linux that work with current distributions.
Your chip should be supported by the open source drivers, may be you should try to create a xorg.conf in /etc/X11/ with the content shown here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php...-sis#xorg.conf
