How to install Openoffice 2.0.3 for Fedora Core2?
Hi,
I tried to install Openoffice 2.0.3 for Fedora Core2 using rpm -e for all in the package. However, after installation and rebooting, I couldn't find any of the openoffice icons in the Gui as if it's not installed. And, I couldn't open any openoffice documents also. Any way to solve this? Thanks. |
Umm rpm -e removes stuff, you were aware of that, weren't you?
OpenOffice's site has the install file for you (gzipped tar archive), and you can get the rpms as well I think, either trough Yum or just by installing the rpm(s) Code:
rpm -Uvh openoffice-something.rpm EDIT: in the latter case, of course, you will have to locate and download the rpm file(s) yourself -- like from rpm.pbone.net for example. |
Take a look at my post here for detailed instructions on how to install OOo on Redhat based distros.

Hi,
Apologies. I mean I use rpm -e to remove previous version. Ya, I use rpm -Uvh to install all the packages. The problem is that I couldn't see anything in GUI after the installation. Thanks. |
