How to install mod_proxy module into Apache?

Just followed the link http://www.thegeekstuff.com/2008/07/...urce-on-linux/ for installing apache with --enable-so only.
How can I install mod_proxy into the same?

Hi,

It can be done using apxs, but it's a bit tricky. If it's not late I'd suggest you to recompile apache using "--enable-mods-shared="proxy proxy_http proxy_ftp proxy_connect" in your ./configure options.
If you don't want to recompile the whole apache, then here's what you have to do:
Go into the modules/proxy directory in apache sources and run:
Code:
/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs -a -i -c mod_proxy.c proxy_util.c
/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs -a -i -c mod_proxy_ajp.c proxy_util.c ajp_utils.c ajp_header.c ajp_msg.c ajp_link.c
/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs -a -i -c mod_proxy_http.c proxy_util.c
/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs -a -i -c mod_proxy_balancer.c proxy_util.c
/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs -a -i -c mod_proxy_connect.c mod_proxy_ftp.c proxy_util.c
/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs -a -i -c mod_proxy_scgi.c proxy_util.c
I guess you have installed apache in the default /usr/local/apache2 directory. If that's not true, then change the path to apxs accordingly.
Also if you don't want mod_proxy_scgi, then omit the last line

Regards
