How to install "lnet library" in fedora

Hi,

I have been trying to run a tool "Anontool". Every time I try the command "make" it shows this error "/user/bin/ld: cannot find -lent " .

Then I tried to install this "lnet library". It is not working any way. Can anyone please let me know how to install this library.

Thank you.

In the console - and as Super user - I'd try

Quote:
yum install inet
...if it's there, you might want to search first...

Quote:
yum search inet
...and select from there...

I notice you using "make" - that's used to compile from source. I'd not go there (yet) if I were you. Let's see if an install is possible of what's already compiled for you

Welcome to LQ. .. ..

'lnet' means libnet.so :

# yum install libnet-devel

Finding a package name : yum provides */libnet.so

.

Thank you for the reply.

The library I am looking for is 'lnet' with "L".

I have downloaded this library package. "yum install" can't find the package. And the downloaded package dose have a makefile , but doesn't accept "make install" command.

Hi

Thank you for the reply.

I have installed libnet-devel. "lnet" is a separate library.

Do you have any idea about another library "libpcre3". Any command to install this library.

Really appreciate your answer.

that error with the lowercase"l" -lent translates from that shorthand to libent
fedora uses DIFFERENT rpm packages
one for the library and a second for the source headers
libent.rpm and libent-devel.rpm

for building software you should install BOTH
also make sure that the build tree is installed ( NOT installed by default)

Code:
su -
yum groupinstall "Development Tools" "Development Libraries"
double check my spelling with
" yum grouplist "

Which Linux OS are you using ? ? Like CentOS 6 or Fedora 16 ?
32bits ? 64bits ?

"libpcre3" is a special Debian construct. Quite different from the default pcre.
http://packages.debian.org/wheezy/libpcre3
http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool...12.orig.tar.gz
Providing ..
libpcre.so.3.12.1 libpcre.so.3 libpcreposix.so.3.12.1 libpcreposix.so.3
"libpcre-dev" : libpcre.so libpcrecpp.so libpcreposix.so, etc.

To use it, you will have to remove the package 'pcre-devel'.
