Question How To Install Linux On Ntfs ?

I have a windows 2000 with 4 partitions in NTFS. There is no other unused/unformatted portion on the hard disk which can be formatted to any other file system.

Now how can I go about installing linux ? Does it need any additional software? With NTFS on my system, what will be things I wont be able to do with linux(apart from having a read access to windows files)?

hmm... I'm not sure if you can install Linux in a NTFS file system, i dont think you can.... I recommende deleting one or more of your NTFS partitions where you would want to install Linux then install linux in the unallocated partition, you can choose to automatically partition your HD and Linux will do the partitioning for you and install in the unallocated partition.... then install Grub or Lilo in the MBR and you now have a Win and Linux dual boot....
