How to install lilo from knoppix

Its a long story how this happened but basicaly what happened was I installed mandrake i used it for a while but then I got news that my boss's superior was inspecting the workplace and i knew he wouldnt be amused if i had mandrake installed, so i went and bought a copy of pm 8.0 and deleted all traces of mandrake partitions and resized my win***$ partition so it filled up the hd,
now when i load it says:
L 99 99 99 99 99 99 99 ...

I think i need to reinstall lilo, but i cant get into windows so i cant resize my partition to make room for a temp linux install. I tried fdisk /mbr but it didnt work so I think my only option is to install lilo or grub from knoppix but I dont know how.

Please help me. The inspector is coming in 2 days.
PLEASE

Thanks in Adv.

If you can't fix your system by any other means, then perhaps you could consider using a program such as ntfsresize to resize the ntfs partion? Assuming it is an ntfs partition of course.
Just a thought

Up to best of my knowledge what happens is that lilo is still on your mbr and it is looking for your lilo.conf in your linux root partion which has already been formatted. So what you need to do is set up mbr so as to boot uncle bill's OS again.

for this you can use one nice utility called bootpart.Bootpart is a freeware that provides functionality of seting up the mbr for booting uncle bill's various OSes including NT/2000.

to download it goto

a few days ago i posted to the forum a thread about how to get a linux install without dual-boot. Inside one of the replies to my message it was suggested to have the win install cd to "fix" the mbr in order to delete the bootloader installed by linux. It should be performed through recovery console mode, booting from win cd and using the command fixmbr. I did't do that, but seems very likely what you need.

hope this helps.
