How to install libjack-jackd2-0 on ubuntu 10.04


Hello friends

I am trying to install libjack-jackd2-0 on ubuntu 10.04

I am not able to install it through synaptic manager.

because there is libjack0 is available.
libjack-jackd2-0 is not available

Also how to install libva-dev .

Hi,

it seems libjack-jackd2-0 was first introduced to Ubuntu in version 12.04. This combined with the facts that 10.04 is no longer supported, and that 12.04 is also an LTS release suggest to me that you should upgrade to 12.04.

I do not want to upgrade to 12.04.
I have seen a linjack0 in synaptic manager . is this same as libjack-jackd2-0.

Also how to upgrade to 12.04

will i have to reinstall all my softwares?

It depends on what software you are talking about. In general any software you installed using the package manager should be automatically upgraded when you upgrade to 12.04.
