Welcome to LQ.

The easy way ( For a 32bits OS ) :
Use the binary package julius-4.2.1-linuxbin.tar.gz
http://jaist.dl.sourceforge.jp/juliu...inuxbin.tar.gz
tar xvf julius-4.2.1-linuxbin.tar.gz && cd julius-4.2.1-linuxbin/ &&
sudo ./run_install.sh

Compiling from source : julius-4.2.1.tar.gz
http://jaist.dl.sourceforge.jp/juliu...s-4.2.1.tar.gz
tar xvf julius-4.2.1.tar.gz && ./configure && make && sudo make install

Both versions install OK. Tested on the 32bits Ubuntu 11.10 .
