The HPLIP driver may already be installed on your system, or available from your systems repos.

Once that is installed, make sure you have Cups installed, and running. Cups will be available for your distor as well. With Cups running, open a web browser, and enter; http://localhost:631 and press enter. That will connect you to the web interface for cups. Click on Administration tab, and add printer. Enter the appropriate information, and select the HPLIP driver. Run test page to verify it works. Thats it.
