how to install grub

Let me briefly explain the situation.
I have installed windows XP on my computer. Then installed Fedora core 5. I had grub as my boot loader and everything was working fine. Now for some reason my windows crashed. So I had to reformat the windows partition and reinstall it.

As expected, my grub got overwritten. Now I only have to reinstall my boot loader. All my partitions (linux's /, /boot, /home) are all safe and so are my C, D, E etc drives. I know this is possible as I have myself done that long back, just dont recall it now. Somebody plz let me know the step by step way of doing it.

thanks,
kiran

You should be able to boot into Fedora from installation cd. Then read the grub manual. It has step-by-step instructions on installing grub.

Got the problem solved.
Booted the computer with installation CD in the rescue mode.
Did 'chroot /mnt/sysimage'
grub-install --recheck sda

Done.
