How to install Flash player in openSUSE

Hi Guys,

I been trying to install Flash player in openSUSE...this is what I tried:

1. I dowloaded the tar.gz version of the player from
2. Went to the terminal and entered tar -zxvf xxxxxxx.tar.gz command
BUT IT IS GIVING ME AN ERROR MESSAGE OF : "Child returned status 2"

Please help what I need to do after i am done downloading the player from, and am i downloading the correct file???

I remember having a similar problem, but I can't recall how it was fixed. I'll try and remember. Hope you get it working.

I downloaded the same file and had no problem extracting it with the same command you used.
Perhaps your download was bad - try downloading again.

you probably have the file on your desktop, try putting it in your home folder and trying the terminal again

You can...

There is a package for the flash plug-in in the repositories for installation with YaST. YaST will then handle the dependencies for you.

You need the update repository installed for the latest version.
