how to install Edubuntu without grub and boot it?

Hi! Currently, I have Windows(R) XP on my hard disk. There is also unpartitioned space on the disk for Edubuntu. However, since I might remove Edubuntu later on and install another distribution or even another OS, I do not want grub to reside in my MBR. Currently, I have both Edubuntu desktop/LiveCD and server. My questions are:

1. Do I have an option not to install grub during the installation? Use the desktop/LiveCD or the server?
2. If answer to 1. is yes, how can I boot Edubuntu? from the CD? can I use Windows(R) Boot Manager (ie. boot.ini)?

Thanks

You cant use windows boot. If you want to use linux and windows on same computer without ruining xp's boot, you can try install edubuntu's bootloader onto a floppy.

You can boot without grub in your MBR. There are a thew boot managers out there Wingrub or bcdEasy, and some others, and there is this one.
