how to install direct connect?

Hi,
I am new on linux and i want to install direct connect on it. i choose Valknut. I downloaded those two dcgui-qt-0.3.0-1.i586.rpm and dclib-0.3.0-1.i586.rpm.
i double clicked on dcgui-qt-0.3.0-1.i586.rpm the installation started an then it wrote that some files are missing (development libraries: libssl).
in the manual of the dc cliet is written:
Quote:
Compiling on Linux
Development libraries needed
*libqt3
*pthread
*libxml
*libbz2 - not strictly required, but without it you won't be able to create or view BZip2-compressed sharelists.
*libssl - OpenSSL libraries if you wish to use SSL for transfers.

Debian users may want to do apt-get install libqt3-mt-dev libxml2-dev libbz2-dev libssl-dev.
Mandrake users would want to install libxml2-devel, libqt3 and libqt3-devel.
although, how to install e.g. those: install libxml2-devel, libqt3 and libqt3-devel

thanks for your replies...

PS: I have mandrake linux installed
