How to install D-Link DUB-E100 USB LAN adapter on Asus D1 laptop?

Like the title says - how do I install D-Link DUB-E100 USB LAN adapter on Asus D1 laptop?

It's an old laptop, therefore it needs a lighweight distro. Tried Xubuntu - wouldn't boot. Tried Slacko Puppy, and it took me a whole day just getting the make command to work.

Now when I try to compile the drivers, I get this:

make: *** /lib/modules/3.4.82/build SUBDIRS=/tmp/Linux2.6.14_REV101 modules

make: *** /lib/modules/3.4.82/build: No such file or direcory. Stop.

make: *** [default] Error 2

Red letters are the location of the driver.

One solution I did find is way too complicated to understand, let alone do.

Any other light distro whcih does this in an easy way?

To be able to give you good advice we need to know which chipset that WLAN device is using. PLease attach it to the system, run
Code:
lsusb
and post the output here.

I get this:

Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0b95:772b Asix Electronics Corp.

Other entries are related to Linux and Linz, which I guess is not related to the adapter.)

This device should work out of the box on any distribution that has kernel version >=3.2.
Which distribution in which version are you using?

I'm using latest Slacko, 5.7 - but I can use any distro, as long as I can get the adapter to work (preferably from shell).
