i downloaded the the backtrack4.iso file from the backtrack's official site, then i burnt the iso file into a dvd but for some reason the disc is not getting booted!! when i made my primary boot device as cdrom and reboot the system it only gAve me the command line that is "GRUB>".should i download the smae file again??
can i make backtrack4 as my primary os, is it possible to do so?
i got a strong felling that the iso file that i burnt is not proper!!
should i download the iso file again and burn it?can you please give me the site from where you had dowloaded the proper iso file?(please bare with me for my poor english)
You should consider a better distro. Backtrack is a limited use distro. It is geared for hackers not newbie or even guru's that have no need for it's uses.
Some older systems will not boot to a dvd drive. How old is your system? Does it boot to any dvd? Does the dvd boot on any other system?
You can and always should check the md5 or shal of your download. Also burn at slowest speeds.
To check the disk you can view contents. If it only has one file named backwahever.iso you burned it wrong.
