Hello, obviously I am a freshly new beginner in Lunix. What I'm trying to do is crack my WiFi encryption using Backtrack 2.0. I downloaded backtrack 2.0 and the icon has no program to it, so obviously I need another program to run it correct? Would I use VMware workstation windows or Vmware workstation Lunix? Then how do I install everything and get it running.

I've been searching around on the net and found a few websites but to be honest I can't understand to many. Is there any websites I can go to so I can learn basic Lunix command prompts and the program itself? I'm really eager to learn and would appreciate the help from anybody. Thanks

Backtrack2 is a live Linux distro. you should be able to boot from the CD to a Linux desktop.

Some applications in Backtrack2 require you to download modules and insert them using the uselivemod utility from the command line.

I would say you probably need to go back to the Backtrack 2 docs for the app you are trying to use.

The Backtrack installer is in the desktop menu. Just click "system" then "Backtrack installer"

Backtrack is always an installable Live CD in every version I downloaded.
