Unhappy how to install a usb "wireless modem"?

running puppy linux on flash drive, live boot... no problems and online with a dialup modem... i just installed a sierra usb wireless modem(att) in my pc, back in windows xp, works okay online, etc... now, i need to install this usb modem in my puppy linux... and, i have no clue where to look, what to do... although i have googled and searched a number of similar, but different situations... can someone lead me in the right direction? i hate being stuck back in ms windows again! thx!

Please post the output of 'lsusb' when you plug in the USB modem along with 'dmesg | grep -i usb'.
