Unhappy How to install a font?

I went to a website and downloaded a font (non-English). After download, firefox asked me if I wanted to view it using 'Gnome font viewer' to which I replied yes. And in the next window, I can actually see the fonts. But when I go back and restart firefox, I don't see that font in the webpage I am visiting. So, i completely logged off fron GNOME and logged back in, but still the same problem.

However, in Windows, if I save the font in \windows\fonts directory and install it, I can see it in firefox. (I am using CentOS).

Can someone help me with that?

PS: For what it's worth, I can send a link to the website and the font if you can help. Thanks.

Locate where is you font dir

#whereis fonts
fonts: /etc/fonts /usr/share/fonts
Go to the directory
#cd /usr/share/fonts
make a new dir.
#mkdir myfonts
Enter this new dir.
#cd myfonts
Copy all fonts you want to use to current dir.
