How to install a driver in trisquel

So I have been trying for days to get internet onto trisquel. Until then i have to use windows 7 and i dont like that. First of all i am totally new to linux. I dont know much about it other than how to use google to figure stuff out. So i ran lspci and it pulled up that my wireless card is: 03:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM43224 802.11a/b/g/n (rev 01). Now i downloaded the driver from http://www.broadcom.com/support/802.11/linux_sta.php and i selected the 64 bit version as i have a inspirion 17 64 bit. Now in linux i unpackaged the tar.gz file and it gave me a file with a lib file structure with a bunch of stuff in it and a src file with a bunch of stuff in it. Also a makefile which has a bunch of information in it that is of no help to me. So my question is what do i do with this? i have no idea how to install or do anything with this. A step by step process for dummies would be awesome!
PS: the trisquel forum has been no help as they keep getting bent up on the fact that it is proprietary, something i am fully aware of and despite which, still want to install it
