What is your Distribution...actually RedHat have an DB with drivers and it finds everyone driver for SC,VC..etc....What are the files formats..? rpm or tar.gz or .tar ...~~? the system must find the drivers itself ;] and to put them to correct place to work FINE~~

i m using RH9 and the system actually recognized the driver correctly. i am trying to get a new driver since i can't get any sound from pc.

i've tried "redhat-config-soundcard". it's failed even though i set the volume to maximum.
