How to input Chinese Characters on slakware linux 12.0 ?

My installation of slakware linux 12.0 seemed Ok, I can see the beautiful KDE Window and I can also read Chinese homepages by Foxfire browser. But I don't know how I can input Chinese characters. I in fact installed everything from the DVD-package. It appeared that SCIM was installed, and I don't know if I have CLE.

Thank you for anyone who guide me.

This page has a good run-down on multi-languages support. It's debian-based, but you should be able to easily convert the commands to your own distro.

Chances are you just need to ensure that the proper scim backend is installed and scim is configured correctly. Then it usually just requires hitting shift+space (or perhaps ctrl+space, I forget what the default is) to activate the IME.
