How to increase cursor speed?

I would like to increase the speed of my cursor movement. For example, when I press and hold the left or the right arrow when in terminal or a text editor I would like the cursor to move faster. I have tried kbdrate and xset as suggested here:

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...rminal-704462/

but it did not seem to help. Does anyone know of any other way to adjust these settings?

Thanks,
Martin

Try editing /etc/sysconfig/keyboard. Look for this:
Code:
# Keyboard repeat rate (2.0 - 30.0)
KBD_RATE=""
Set a keyboard rate, save the file, then you may need to logout/login or restart X (ctrl-alt-backspace) to have the new rate take effect.
