how to implement pppoe (point to point protocol over ethernet)


Hi All,

after getting good response for my first thread my expectation from this forum is increased.
currently i am working on PPPOE.
i know about pppoe which is as follow.
there are PADI,PADO,PADR,PADS,PADT phases,
my problem is as follow.
i have isp provided user name , password ,service name ,
i want to make connection by using pppoe.
which kind of script is required so that i can authenticate,
and done the connection.
i also want to set connection on demand kind of scenario.
for this all which thing i have to use and in which way
can anyone help?
your help is appreciated a lot.
if you have littel bit idea on this problem,please provide
that also.

on debian-based systems its pppoeconf.
install and run it as root. main info or important parts are your username and your passwd, accept the defaults for the rest of it.
