Exclamation How to have dual OS(win/linux) on 1 Hard Drive


Hey
I have a 9Gb hard drive and i want to install RedHat and Windows on 1 hard drive but when i go into the linux installation i cant find a way to do this and it always tells me to reformat my whole PC before i install linux. Could some one please help me with either a step by step intructions or mannual.

1stly I think 9G is a bit small for both but that depends how much you have. In order to create a partition for linux you need to have free space on the drive to create an Ext2 file system. If your current drive is totally formatted for fat32 you are going to have to first shrink the partition to create the free space.

took me a while to set both up on mine... 9GB is really small so u might have trouble, but what i did was format the drive from the windows setup, and when you select the partition "create" a partition instead of using the whole thing... it lets you enter how many megabytes you want to make your win partition. then install windows (id use the least amount of extras to save disk space). i couldnt get it working unless i did windows then linux.. hope this helps.
