You must explain more what you're doing. Are you trying to watch satellite programs with vlc? Do you have saved files on this device that you are trying to play back? Usually device makers make it difficult to record digital content, because copyright owners lean on them to help prevent piracy.

You say you have "the" plugin. Which plugin, actually?

i have an internal hdd in this device and have my own videos saved. There is a media player that
comes with edision os2+ already preloaded . It plays all my media but i really prefer vlc that can
play many more video formats. I'm not interested in using this for sat. Channel playback or streaming . I want to play media i have made using adobe premiere [ my own videos ] in avi or mkv formats. When i open the vlc player i get a message saying '' error loading filelist into server 1
url open error 148 no route to host '' then i press ok and vlc opens with a blank window titled
filelist and playlist .. I can never see my files listed .
The plugin is called '' vlc video player a video streaming solution based on vlc '' maybe this is my problem ?? The plugin listed in the downloadable plugins only has this. Could there be another vlc i can download on my pc but for linux to install on my linux sat box ? I use this as a media player along with watching sat tv .
The edision os2+ has open atv linux operating system and uses g streamer 1.9.0 .
It is connected by ethernet to my network along with my computer letting me transfer my files
to and from the receiver .
