[solved] How to get rid of timer in mplayer firefox plugin?

Hi guys!

When mplayerplug-in plays a movie trailer in firefox it puts a rather large and ugly timer in the upper left corner of the picture. How do I turn it off?

I tried adding "showtime=0" to $HOME/.mplayer/mplayerplug-in.conf, (as suggested by mplayerplug-in documentation homapage) but it made no difference.

I figured it out once I found out OSD means "On Screen Display". Adding "osdlevel=0"to the config file fixed it (althoug that is supposed to be the default according to the mplayerplug-in site). Oh well, at least I successfully edited a text config file on my own for the first time! Instant ego boost!

btw I've been using Mandriva 2006 for two days now, my first linux distro!
(worst problem so far: took me two hours to figure out to press q to close a man page - found it here at LQ!
