Hi everyone
I'm new to this forum and new to Zorin OS 12.
So far I have been able to figure out how to do most things except for one thing and that is why I am here seeking help. I have my Zorin OS 12 set to after 5 minutes of inactivity to go to a black screen. And I also managed to be able to return from idle without having to enter my password by moving my mouse or pushing a key on the keyboard. What my problem is when it returns from an idle state I get this screen with the date and time on it that I have to flip up in order to resume my session. So my question is there anyway I can get rid of this flip up time screen and just move my mouse or push a key on my keyboard to return to my session from idle? If there is please tell me step by step or if I have to enter commands in a terminal to do this please tell me step by step the commands I need to enter. This is super annoying and the only thing I hate about this OS. So if you can help me get rid of this flip up clock I will be super grateful to you. Thank you in advance

This sounds like a joke. You don't want to hit a key to raise the greeter screen?

@Awesome Machine noooo you misunderstood what I said. Instead of having an actual screensaver after 5 minutes of being idle I have my Zorin OS go to a black screen. So when I return from an idle state in order to wake up my session again in like a windows OS you either move your mouse or push any key in the keyboard and voila you're back in your session. Well right now when I want to wake up my Zorin OS from the black screen I still do that, but instead of re awakening my session this clock and date screen shows up. And I have to swipe this screen up in order to return to my idle session. And what I want to do is get rid of this swipe up date and clock screen so when I move my mouse to reawaken my session I go directly in to my session and not have this annoying swipe up date and clock screen. Does this make more sense?

Try looking in your settings. You might be able to control that annoying window through a setting.

What DE comes with Zorin?

If your not sure run this command and let us know the output.

@Ztcoracat In Zorin it's Gnome 3 and yes it was the only thing that annoyed me to know end on Zorin OS 12. And thankfully someone on another forum led me to this solution. Finally I can return from idle without the swipeup screen or having to put in my password. Now I just move my mouse or push a key on the keyboard and I'm back in again. What a relief
