How to get DVD working
 
Hi.
New here. Installed Linux Freespire but cannot use dvd drive to play dvd's, cd's or writng media. Drive is working.
My cd rom drive is ok though.
How do i get it to work ?

If so a step by step guide please as i am not a fully fledged IT mechanic!! and new to system.

Could you open a terminal and give us the output of:
Code:

lspci
then put a DVD in (which contains data etc.), give it a second or two and give use the output of
Code:

dmesg|tail
And give us some indocation of what you've tried so far?
