How to get data from energenie mihome gateway.

I have a mihome gateway and clamp on current reader.
I can view the data through an android app but would like to construct a program in c# or c++ on Linux mint to use energenie s
API.
the ultimate goal is to write the data to a myswl server.
what I need is a simple example program.
I have installed visual studio and c# but so far not sure how to construct the programs to compile to a binary or. Net
I have the API descriptions but need a start
