how to get a different start bar/icons etc


i`ve recently switched to ubuntu and me not knowing alot about it and how to implament new things like the "mac" like bar at the bottom and change the icons.

i`ve seen some on the net but it doesnt tell u how to apply them.

any help would be appreciated

You are looking for AWN or Cario-dock. Both of those are pretty good from what I have been told. I would try AWN first.
