Use chage command to list and activate expired user account in linux

chage - change user password expiry information

raviteja_s 10-29-2010 10:02 AM

[root@ns1 ~]# chage -l root

Last password change : Oct 26, 2010
Password expires : never
Password inactive : never
Account expires : never
Minimum number of days between password change : 0
Maximum number of days between password change : 99999
Number of days of warning before password expires : 7

Please wait for OP to clarify his question.

I have read the man page & run it a couple of times; & I don't think chage is the answer: it needs a user name.

chage by itself only gives a short help.

chage -l root only gives info about the root acct.
