Might help if you showed 'clearly' what you have tried and where you are stuck? May even help if you told us which distribution you are using so people might be able to supply a more direct answer.

You type in "unrar e <filename>", and press ENTER. Read the man page on the unrar command for more help by typing in "man unrar". you don't say what version/distro of Linux you're using or provide any details at all...please read the "Question Guidelines" link in my posting signature. if you don't have unrar installed, chances are it's available from your distros online repositories...how to install it will vary depending on your distro.

That is ONE place to get it, but certainly not the best or easiest, given the OP's question. For a newbie, installing it from their online repositories is FAR better and easier.

simple
it is in the GUI's user "Downloads" folder

you open it the EXACT SAME WAY as you do using Apple or Windows

### Double click on the archive ###
and use the archive manager to save the files
the SAME AS USING MS WINDOWS!!!

Code:
rar e <inputfile.rar>
This will extract the file(s) only without paths, i.e no directories even if there are directories present in the archive.

Code:
rar x <inputfile.rar>
This will extract the file(s) with full paths, i.e with directories.

From a GUI file manager, right-click on the rar archive and select extract and then choose the action for the extraction.
