Hi there

Which email client do you currently use?

If you can find the export function in your existing client, see if it will export as a format Evolution can read (File > Import and look at the list in the druid that pops up)

Exporting Emails from Thunderbird to Evolution

I cannot find any export file on Thunderbird It has Import but there is no where on the various instructions on the Thunderbird tool bar to indicate Export. So I am still puzzled as to how export all my details to Evolution? Have you any more suggestions please Many Thanks Ziggyjam

Exporting Emails from Thunderbird to Evolution.

Yes thank you I have read the link pljvaldez kindly sent me. I have found it difficult to follow as I am very amateur. However I think I have managed to export all my addresses. However I can't find the place in Evolutions as to where they keep the Address book There is no symbol anywhere for this. So I don't know whether my email address have arrived into Evolutions. I have backed them all up though.

I also do not understand as to how import my emails into Evolutions. The link instructions are difficult to follow I don't understand by what is meant by Thunderbird mail archives are at ~/.thunderbird/xxxxxxxx.default/Mail/ (where xxxxxxxx will a different alphanumeric string). In this directory you'll have directories according to your mail accounts. In my case it's /.thunderbird/xxxxxxxx.default/Mail/Local\ Folders/Inbox.sbd/

My apologies for this but I really do not understand this. Please can you kindly advise the simplest way of doing this.

Many thanks

Ziggyjam
