How to enable Apache mod_rewrite, after apache installed without this modue

How to enable Apache mod_rewrite, after apache installed without this modue.

How can I add this module now? or I have to recompile the apache source with enabling mod_rewrite?

If it wasn't compiled in then yes I would imagine it needs to be recompiled.
