how to do incremental sync in MDADM

Hi guys,

I want to know if it is possible to do incremental sync in MDADM? I am using mdadm - v2.6.1, with external meta data.

Thanks

I know it's a software raid tool...like, initially when you start the array, mdadm starts syncing right? now if you stop the disk which is the sync target in the middle of the sync, the sync stops (obviously).

right now, if I put the same disk (which received partial sync) back in the array, mdadm starts a full sync and it doesn't pick up from where it left off before the disk was pulled... how can I avoid a full sync in this case?

Thanks

you cannot stop it.

cause for OS, whenever u put a disk, it will treat it as a new disk and will sync it from first i.e the 2 disks are in sync old & new disk.

Anyways syncing the disk from end to end is always a good idea & anyways this happens in background so u can carry u r work normally without even getting bothered.whether its RAID 1 or RAID 5.
