But I could be wrong. Only ever checked those on a Manjaro image for my pinebook pro. To find that it didn't match because the wiki link was to the OLD version. So I had to download the NEW version directly from manjaro, not the pinebook pro wiki. Only then did it match.
$ sha1sum image.img
perhaps
$ sha1sum /dev/dvd
would be simpler / more efficient in your case. But I've never done that to know.
I downloaded a copy of Santoku and the checksum on their website is for "sha1", not "sha256sum". How do I check for "sha1" for a dvd? For sha256sum, i usually check with: "sudo dd if=/dev/cdrom count=x bs=x | sha256sum"
The "sha1sum" command would be the way; read the "Question Guidelines" link in my posting signature
And since you're posting in the "Newbie" forum, why on earth would you load Santoku, a specialized distro for security and forensics? Especially based on your other threads, where you appear to be having problems with plain Debian.
