How to disable IOMMU support

Hi All,

In one of Redhat Document I read that "It is advised by Redhat to disable the IOMMU, Because it occasionally prevents kdump Service"

May I know how to disable IOMMU on Intel Server.

Thanks In Advance

In the case of an Intel CPU, you configure grub to pass the parameter intel_iommu=off to the kernel. See also https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documenta...parameters.txt.

You should realize that there is a bit of reduced security when the IOMMU is disabled.

This is likely not an issue, but what it does is allow the system to specify what part of memory a device can read/write from - preventing a rogue device from going where it shouldn't. Usually this is a problem with USB devices more than others.
