how to directly store data on network drive without storing on local drive/ system

hello ,
whenever we store some data it gets stored on the system itself..
so, is it possible to store data directly on the network drive without storing it on the system??

I think we need a bit more information about what kind of data you want to store. And your distro wouldn't be a bad idea either.

I have a server running Centos with samba installed. From a number of other PCs I can access files on this server. I don't need to store the files on the local PCs.

Is that the kind of thing you are talking about?

Just write to the mountpoint.

The only filesystem I know of off hand that supports local caching is AFS (and that is usually disabled). All the others (NFS/Samba/Lustre...) go directly to the server.
