How to dial-up internet in Slackware

My Linux internet experience is throught Kppp. But now I like to do some learning and gets my hands dirty by issuing the commandline myself. (yeah, I switch to using only lightweight WM, XFce). I read in "Slackware Essentials" which say after configure pppserup to dial I should type ppp-go but command not found.

ppp-setup as root, followed by
ppp-start or ppp-go (don't remember which!!).
