How to determine the actual used space on a disk share using Sparse file?

I have lot of sparse file created under one share .

They all are scattered across different directories with in the share.

one way of determining them is to run ls -ltr instead of du .as du displays the actual used size and ls -ltr displays the sparse maximum size limit.

but this is not applicable on share level.

I can get the actual size of share by using df -h .
But how would i get the size considering sparse file maximum limit?

Hope i explained my problem correctly.

Not entirely sure what you want, but have you looked at the --apparent-size option for du http://linux.die.net/man/1/du ?
