how to detect diamond supra express modem
 

hi guys,
i have here a diamond supra express external modem.a redhat distro and i want to configure a dial in server. my problem is i cant detect my modem. whenever i activate it,it has an error saying ppp0 error 8. what seems to be the problem ?
