How to create JWT using Python urllib2 module

I want to create JWT(Java web token) using python module urllib2 only since I have python 2.6 installed on all hosts and urllib2 comes by default with the distribution. I have below parameters, basis on which I have to create JWT. I know it is a POST request. I have tried to read and apply document provided for urllib2 but I couldn't apply. Can somebody help me to generate JWT with python urllib2.

1. url
2. headers
3. credentials(username/password)
